Norman Bondy

Norman J. Bondy, age 92, a resident of Royal Oak, formerly of Birmingham and Highland Park, passed away July 20, 2013. He was born October 15, 1920 in Anderdon Township, Ontario, Canada to the late Mark and Stella Bondy. Mr. Bondy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from American Standard in 1982. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and St. Benedicts Alumni Association of Highland Park. He was a golf enthusiast and loved to tinker, "Mr. Fix It - Handyman Extraordinaire." Beloved husband of the late Mary Jean Entwistle Bondy, loving father of Patricia Eugene Hawthorne of Las Vegas, NV and Anne Bondy of Berkley. Dear brother of Rosemary Campion of Janesville, WI, Kenneth Bondy of Beverly Hills, the late Robert, Mark and Bernard Bondy. The visitation will be Friday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mr. Bondy will lie in state Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 at a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church in Birmingham, with Msgr. John Zenz officiating. Private burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Heart/Stroke Association or EWTN.
