Norma Jean Haney was received into Heaven on November 14, 2009. She was predeceased by her parents, many friends and her five loving and faithful dog guides. Jean is survived by her brother Ralph Haney, her daughter Kendra Haney and two grandchildren, as well as her yellow lab dog guide Clade. Jean earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan. She provided respectful caring social work services to residents of the Episcopal Church Home and to blind people at ABVI/Goodwill for over three decades. Because of Jean's confident, effective and loving use of a dog guide, she motivated many blind people to gain a similar degree of independence. Jean will be lovingly remembered for her commitment to being a dependable loving parent, grandmother, sister and friend. Her steadfast love of God will encourage us all for the rest of our lives. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service 11:30 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
