Ruth died Monday, February 20th at the home of her daughter, Hazel Johnson of Four Corners, Wyoming.
Ruth was born May 7, 1914 on her grandmother Elisabeth Sanders Van Sickel?s birthday, in Adair County, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Grant and Mary Ann Alger Van Sickel. She grew up in the rural community of Stall, Missouri. She was raised in a strong church atmosphere under her mother?s supervision as sunday school superintendent. She also attended country school in the school where her mother was also a teacher. At age twelve, following the passing of her mother she moved with her father to Weston County, Wyoming to join her three older brothers. She continued her education at Elk Mountain School riding her horse five miles to school and later went on to high school in Newcastle.
At age seventeen, she married her life long sweetheart of 74 years, John ?Charley? Borgialli, the love of her life. They started their new life together on a small homestead that they purchased next to Charley?s parents. There she worked along side her husband making a home for him and their six children, Thomas John, Robert Henry, Hazel Ruth, Harry Aaron, William Leslie, and Dorothy Mae. She could always be heard humming hymns as she worked. Whether it was in the kitchen, the garden or doing ranch chores.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed neighborhood get togethers, playing cards and dancing. She was a devoted mother who loved her family and lived her life on Christian principles and the golden rule.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Tom Mary and Bob both of Buffalo, Wyoming; two daughters, Hazel Johnson of Four Corners, Wyoming and Dorothy Joe Bartlett of Pittsburg, Kansas. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 30
