Funeral services for Nancy A. Kokesh will be held on Monday February 25th at 10:00 A.M. at the Upton First Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at the Upton Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 24th at Worden Chapel. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be used for charitable projects in Upton. Contributions may be mailed to the Sundance State Bank, PO Box 950, Sundance, WY 82729. Pallbearers will be Dustin Kokesh, Derek Kokesh, Randy Pollard, Wesley Pollard, Russell Pollard, and Russell Michaels. Nancy Ann Kokesh, 68, of Upton, Wyoming died Monday February 18 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Kokesh was born February 1, 1940 in Newcastle, WY the daughter of Melvin and Betty George Pollat. As a young girl she lived with her family on a ranch south of Upton. She attended the Upton Public Schools, graduating in 1958. Nancy worked at the Union State Bank following graduating.
On August 28, 1959 she married Donald Ray Kokesh in Upton, WY. They resided on the Kokesh Ranch north of Upton. She was baptized in 1963 and became a member of the First Baptist Church. For many years she taught Sunday school and was very involved with various church activities.
She enjoyed growing her gorgeous flowers in the yard, gardening, and serving. She took great and caring pleasure in her family and enjoying her grandchildren. She enjoyed her close relationship with her sister and was very involved with her boys and nephews and nieces while they were growing up together.
Survivors include her husband Don, her three sons Daniel Kokesh and his wife Angie, Darrell Kokesh and his wife Kathi, and Kevin Kokesh all of Upton; her mother Betty Pollat, twin sister, Betty Ann Honey and husband Harold all of Newcastle, WY, her two brothers Kenneth Pollat of Upton, WY and Dennis Pollat of Casper, WY, six grandsons, one granddaughter, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Melvin Pollat and son Marvin Kokesh.
