Murray Albert Fortune, age 82, formerly of Huntington Woods, MI and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, died June 17, 2012 at Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce, MI. He was born May 12, 1930 in Windsor, Ontario to the late Albert Edward Fortune and Mary Ellen McCann. Mr. Fortune attended Assumption High School and the University of Detroit obtaining a degree in business. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion of Knights of Columbus Bishop Gallagher Council #2569 and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of more than 25 years, Jean Tourangeau; children, David Jennifer of Plainwell, MI, Kenneth Gosia of Richmond, VA and Susan Jack McCloskey of Petoskey, MI; brother, Edward Florence of Windsor, Ontario; longtime companion, Erika Jahr of Commerce Township, MI; and grandchildren, Sam, John, Sean, Michael and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his brother, Garry; and sisters, Lois Warren and Doris McGraw. The visitation will be Wednesday 5-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, MI. Mr. Fortune will lie in state Thursday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI.
