Wayne Jerome Sack, 68, of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday, October 12, at Weston County Health Services.
He was born July 8, 1943, in Hettinger, North Dakota to Joe and Nora (Ellefson) Sack. Wayne lived on a farm in the northwest part of South Dakota and attended a country school through the 8th grade, when he then attended and graduated high school in Reeder, North Dakota.
He worked construction after high school, and then bought a service station in Baker, Montana. He worked for Shell Pipeline in Baker and transferred to Torrinton, Wyoming. He then worked as a brick layer until moving to Newcastle, Wyoming in 1982 to work for Wyoming Pipeline. He worked for the pipeline for 28 years and retired as the Superintendant in June 2010.
In 1963 in Scranton, North Dakota he married Joan Wegner and had two girls, Tanya Joy and Karla Sue.
On December 27, 1986, he married Jeanette (Jeane) Hoppal and gained two more girls - Julie Ann and Mindy Sue.
Wayne enjoyed his job, woodworking, gardening, fly fishing, and travel. He loved his church and the community, and the church members of First United Methodist Church, and also assisting Sharon with the weekly computer projection for church services. He loved getting involved in all projects, especially those that required planning, building, and executing. He loved lumber-jacking with Wilber, and working with Ed, Carol, Elaine, Paula, Harry, Jimmy, Rogene, Norma, Shane, Dorothy, and so many others on set decorating and plans for the dinner theaters.
Wayne was a friend to all. He loved all of his grandchildren with a passion - and his recent great granddaughter, Alaina.
He was preceded in death by: father Joe Sack, mother Nora Sack, brother David Sack, daughter Mindy Darrow.
He is survived by his wife, Jeane, Newcastle; three daughters, Tanya Austin (Randy), Torrington, Wyoming; Karla Einspahr (Glenn), Broomfield, Colorado; Julie Blakemore (Scott), Mountain Home, Idaho; 7 grandchildren, Morgan, Kevin, Dylan, Kayla, Cody, Rodney, Grant; and one great grandchild, Alaina.
The family suggests memorials to The Youth Connection, First United Methodist Church, 23 North Seneca Avenue, Newcastle, Wyoming 82701.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 17th at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle.
