Funeral services for Teddy M. Elliott, 80, will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 1st at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Holland officiating. Burial with Masonic Graveside rites will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle immediately following services. A memorial has been established to benefit Shriners Crippled Children's' Hospital. All are invited to a luncheon following the interment at Newcastle Senior Services Center.
Teddy M. Elliott was born October 11, 1932 in Newcastle, Wyoming the son of Ted R. and Virgie (Adkins) Elliott. He grew up on a ranch west of Newcastle. He attended country school, and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1950. After graduation he worked in the oilfield and lived on the family ranch.
On May 25, 1952 he married Donna Lee Morgan. He then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in November of 1952 in Billings, Montana. In July of 1953 their first daughter, Pamela Ann, was born at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From there, Teddy went to Africa and Turkey with the Air Force. While in Turkey, his second daughter Theoda Marie was born in February, 1955 in Newcastle, Wyoming. His tour with the Air Force ended in 1956. Then Teddy and Donna along with their daughters, lived on the family ranch. Teddy ranched and worked in the oilfield until 2011. After retiring, Teddy and Donna moved to Newcastle.
Teddy served on the school board for several years, as well as serving as chairman of the Weston County Farm Bureau board. He served sixteen years as a Weston County Commissioner and also belonged to Newcastle Masonic Lodge #13, Kalif Shriners and Upton Chapter #32, Order of the Eastern Star.
Teddy was a wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly, by all who knew him.
Teddy is survived by Donna, his wife of sixty one years; two daughters, Pam Oleson of Newcastle and Theoda Burleson (Mike) of Newcastle; brother Dwight Elliott and family of Newcastle; sister Joan LeLaCheur (Donald) of Coffeyville, Kansas; three grandchildren, Brandon Oleson of Denver, Dawnyell Anderson and Melissa Houser both of Newcastle, Wyoming; four great grandchildren, Kristjan Oleson of Rapid City, SD, Kalyn and Alyssa Houser of Newcastle and Ezra Anderson of Newcastle.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Virgie Elliott; one daughters Londa Elliott; and two grandchildren, "Little" Mike Burleson and Nakala Burleson.
