Mrs. Neomia Locke

Neomia Helen Locke 76 of Upton Wyoming passed away June 5, at Crook County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 23, 1938 in Sturgis South Dakota to Art and Helen Sinkey.
She lived with her parents and 2 brothers and her best friend and sister as she grew up in various places until they settled in Upton Wy where she met the love of her life, George Richard Locke. They married when she was 17 and after she graduated High School she follwed George to Alaska where he was stationed in the Army.
They settled back in Upton after George was discharged from the service with the 1st of four daughters making it their home for the last fifty-six years.
She stayed busy raising her family and working hard all of her life. She had worked for Pamida, Lockes OK Hardware, all the while substituting for her father or sister in-law carrying the mail. She became the full time Mail Carrier in 1979 and earned the Eagle Spirit Award in 2013 for her dedication, leadership, quality and spirit embodied by the American Eagle .
She delivered the Casper Star Tribune for ten years, then sold Whole Sale Foods. She was a member of the Upton United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Women group. She was a member of the MRS Club and participated in many Mothers Day Banquets.
She enjoyed our crazy camping trips, and she loved, loved, loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. Her biggest joys were the times spent with all her "babies."
She was an Elegant Lady and always had a kind word for everyone. She was always on your side and as supportive as she could be.
Survivors include her husband, George, four daughters, Paula (Dwight) Donner, Joni Rikke (Richard Dexler), Jennifer Locke, and April (Joe) Sadler all of Upton. A Brother Chuck Sinkey of Midland SD., many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proceeded in Death by her parents, a brother Leo, Sister and best friend Anne Mettler and her beloved grandson Jacob Dowdy.
Funeral visitation will be Thursday, June 12th from 10:00 am to Noon at the Uptom Community Center. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM at the Community Center with burial to follow at the Upton Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Upton Ambulance Service would be appreciated by the family. Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle are in charge of the arrangements.
