Mrs. Mary McGlaughlin

Mary Ann McGlaughlin, 69, of Newcastle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home. Her children, who had been caring for her during her illness, were by her side.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worden Funeral Home in Newcastle.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of friends and family after services at the Weston County Senior Center.

She was born Feb. 9, 1943, in Portland, Ore., to Daniel and Fern Porter. Mary was the oldest of seven children.

She lived in Miles City, Mont., Edgerton, Newcastle and Gillette.

She started school in Gillette and graduated from Newcastle High School.

She was active in Girl Scouts and was a 10-year member of 4-H. In her youth, she excelled in pyramid water skiing.

She enjoyed home improvement projects. She was a full-time crafter and liked spending time crafting with her grandkids.

She worked in the Dime Store, The Men's Store, and Pinnacle Bank in Newcastle. She was part owner of a garbage disposal business and operated a Conoco Gas Station in Gillette. She worked for over 20 years at the Cordero Coal Mine where she worked until she retired due to poor health.

On March 19, 1963, she married Wally Cash. Three children were born to this union. They later divorced.

She married Carl McGlaughlin on Feb. 14, 1994. They lived on Beaver Creek north of Newcastle until 2011 when they moved to town.

She was dearly loved by everyone in her large family, her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She lived for her children and grandchildren.

Everyone who knew her felt her love and generosity. Mary had a great sense of humor and could see the humor in any situation.

She is survived by her husband and mother of Newcastle; son, Jason (Heather) Cash of Newcastle; daughter, Danette Cash of Gillette; stepsons, Joey (Robin) Cash of Gillette, Rick McGlaughlin and Danny McGlaughlin of Ohio; stepdaughter, Pam (Ray) Kruse of Gillette; grandchildren, Morgan and Tiffany Hess and McKenzie, Gracie, and Jackson Cash; step-grandchildren, Lisa Fish, Nichole McNeil, Shelby Smith, Casey Cash, Cassidy Kruse, Alex Wilt, Shelby Wilt and Eric Wilt; brothers, Danny (Sandy) Porter of Gillette, Ed (Cindy) Porter of Newcastle, Mike (Diane) Porter of Osage; sisters, Kathie (Gene) Morgan of Washington, Utah, Ruth Liggett of Newcastle and Sandy (Jake) Clouse of Thermopolis; aunt, Ovella Bing of Gillette and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and newborn son, Phillip Toliver Cash.
