On February 26, 2016 at 10:30am beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother Marion Thaler left us after a very short struggle with cancer at the age of 75. She was born in Passaic, NJ, grew up in East Rutherford, NJ, and spent the past 42 years living in Newcastle, where she touched the lives of so many people. She will be most remembered for her 21 years of friendly service at Hardware Hank and her dedicated contribution of time to the Helping Hands Foundation of Weston County.
Marion was a free spirited individual who believed in always staying active and lived by the motto "do what you gotta do". She greatly enjoyed her weekly coffee socials with friends, spending time with her family, trips to the ocean and to visit lighthouses. She loved to play Free Cell on the computer and to play dominos and bunko with her friends at the Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed traveling to Sturgis during the rally for a Philly cheese steak, a funnel cake, and to see Def Leapord preform live; going to the Black Hills Play House, and an occasional trip to Deadwood to play the slots.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Slebodnik of New Jersey, and her sister Floraine Adanatzian of New Jersey, and son in law Jerry Pedulla of Laramie, Wyoming. Marion is survived by one daughter, Sandy Pedulla of Laramie and three sons - Bob (Tami) Thaler of Newcastle, Karl (Mary) Thaler of New Jersey, and Wayne (Mary) Thaler of Georgia; six grandchildren - Jake and Brittney Thaler (Wyoming), Eric and Alex Thaler (New Jersey), Justin and Jessica Thaler (Georgia); and one great granddaughter Kaia Thaler (Wyoming).
A viewing is scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Worden Funeral Home. A funeral service for Marion will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church with a gathering in the Fellowship Hall following the internment. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marion's life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up through Helping Hands Foundation, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 555 Newcastle, WY 82701.
