Katherina Colich, 85, of Newcastle died Sunday, April 14th at Weston County Manor. Katherina was born September 26, 1927 at Kolbermoor, Germany the daughter of Jakob and Katherina Strasser. Katherina met Petar Colich shortly after World War II and they were married on September 18, 1948 in Kolbermoor Germany. The couple immigrated to the United States where she was a homemaker until her children were grown. Prior to her retirement she was employed at various jobs at the Sioux Cafe and later The Old Mill Inn.
She enjoyed puzzles, knitting, playing bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Frank) Brott of AR, Mary Toohey of NY, Angelina (Pete) Evans of CA, Donna (David) Dutcher of Newcastle, WY and Stephen (Vicky) Colich of Iowa. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great and step grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger siblings.
Preceding her in death was her husband, and sons Thomas Ray, David Lee and Michael Colich.
Services were private.
