Mrs. Georgia Balew

July 3, 1925 — December 22, 2013

Georgia Leah Balew, 88, died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyoming.

She was born July 3, 1925 at Clareton, Wyoming the daughter of Merrott and Lorena Myrtle (nee Endicott) Elliott. Georgia was raised on the Elliott homestead South East of Newcastle, Wyoming. She was a graduate of Newcastle High School and attended college in Spearfish, South Dakota. She taught country school around Newcastle. She later married Orin Charles Shuck. Together they had seven children. She lived most of her life in Weston County, Wyoming.

Preceding her in death were her parents and eleven brothers and sisters; Blanche Elliott, Warren Elliott, Ted Elliott, Rose Morris, Frank Elliott, Clyde Elliott, Eugene Elliott, Pat Elliott, Mabel Dixon, Evelyn Kelley and Jim Elliott.

Surviving her is one brother Don Elliott of Orofino, Idaho; seven children, Ralph Shuck of Upton, WY, Faye Tompkins of Dakota City, NE, Leah Johnson and Lola Coor both of Gillette, WY, Linda Murray of Sioux City, Iowa Ronnie Shuck of Roosevelt, Utah, Loretta Spence of Minneapolis, MN. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Seventh Day
Adventist Church in Newcastle, Wyoming. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle. Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle assisted the family with the arrangements.
