Mrs. Doris Halls

Doris M. Halls, 81, of Newcastle, died Wednesday, November 16th in her home.
She was born January 26, 1930, in Oelrichs, South Dakota to James and Nettie Abbott. She was a tough yet spoiled little lady as she was the only girl out of six children. As a young girl she attended country school until 1942, then moved to Hot Springs, SD and attended high school.
On January 20, 1946, she married Theodore "Mike" Halls. To this union two children were born. The couple moved to Newcastle in 1954 and on to Upton in 1956 they then moved to Lovell. Wyoming in 1974 and lived there until 1985 when they returned to Newcastle. Doris and Mike were married for 61 years before Mike's death in March, 2008.
Doris attended the Methodist Church and was an active volunteer at Weston Manor Nursing Home. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, cooking and hosting holiday meals.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her five brothers and husband.
Survivors include her son Theodore Halls of Newcastle and daughter Sarah Clyde of Newcastle, six grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, November 21st at Worden Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle with Pastor Wayne Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bill Nelson, Chad Townsend, Gordon Ballieu, Gideon Dixon, Larry Clyde and Mike Hawley.
A memorial has been established to the Weston County Manor.
