Karen Hudspeth, 70, of Upton, Wyoming died Sunday, May 17th at Weston County Health Services. She was born June 22, 1944 at Gillette, Wyoming the daughter of Earl and Mary Alice (Fullerton) Watt. Growing up she was in 4-H and loved to bake. She attended Job's Daughters as a Past Honored Queen. She was also a majorette in high school. Karen attended school in a little one room country school up to the 2nd grade. From third through 6th grade she rode a bus to Upton for school. She attended 6th grade through high school in Montana and graduated from Belgrade, Montana high school. Karen also complete one year of college at the University of Wyoming until she met the love on her life and got married. Karen met Cecil Hudspeth in 1965 and two weeks later they were married at the Upton United Methodist Church. Karen was a homemaker,
Karen had a Great Spirit and loving kind heart. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone and took in many kids off and on throughout the years.
Some of Karen's favorite things were spending time with family, picnicking and going to Deadwood. Karen loved her kids and grandkids very much. Family was everything to Karen. Karen was an avid Crocheter and she loved knitting also. She made hundreds of lap blankets for the Shriners Children, the Denver Children's' Hospital the Newcastle Manor and the less fortunate along with hundreds of stocking hats.
She is survived by her husband Cecil Hudspeth of Upton; four daughters and one son; Sheila (Stacy) Sanchez of Spring Creek, NV, Julie (Mike) Cross of Gillette, WY, Tina (John) Kelly of Gillette, WY, Mindy (Rick) Wooten of Gillette and Steven (Teresa) Hudspeth of Upton, WY. Also surviving are grandchildren Kaylee Cross, Wesley Atkins, Kim Bruner, Anna Atkins Larissa Sanchez, Emma Atkins, Kevin Cross, Leslie Wooten, Michael Hudspeth, Brandon Wooten and Shayla Sanchez. Great grandchildren Serenity Bruner, Ne Vaeh Brunner, Kassidy Atkins Mason Bruner, Kaden Middleton and Keileianna Atkins also survive Karen. Brothers and sisters surviving are Phil Watt, Don Watt, Steve Watt, Joe Watt, Cathy Grekoff and Lynnea Prell.
Memorial services are planned for Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00 am at Upton United Methodist Church with Rev. Sharee Johnson officiating and Frank Stevens as eulogist. Burial will follow in the Upton Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. There is no memorial.
