Mr. Matthew Greene

Graveside services for Matthew Stephen Greene, 35, were held Tuesday, July 17th at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle with Bishop Greg James of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.
Matthew died Monday, July 9th in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Matthew was born May 15, 1977 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Stephen and Jody (Josserand) Greene. He was a 1995 graduate of Newcastle High School, and was currently a student at Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City where he was studying Industrial Electronics.
Matthew, affectionately known as "Sweet Matty" by family and close friends, was a devoted and attentive father to his sons, Jason and Aidan. His love for his boys knows no bounds. They are his Everything! In high school, he was voted as having the "Best Sense of Humor" and his dry wit continued to entertain those his life touched. His life was an example of service to friends and strangers alike.
His ability to persevere in the face of numerous challenges and obstacles was inspiring. Even with those challenges, Sweet Matty maintained his capacity to love and forgive others. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially camping, hiking and woodcutting. Because Matthew was an avid animal lover, the family suggests memorials to the Weston County Humane Society.
He is survived by his mother Jody Greene of Newcastle; sister Lisa (Craig) Hoffman of Shawano, WI; brother Mark (Juli) Greene of Pawnee, IL; sons Jason Greene of Phoenix, AZ and Aidan Greene of Saratoga, WY; grandmother Janette Josserand of Kansas City, MO; special friendMallory Harris of Sioux Falls, SD and many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his Father Stephen Greene, Grandmother Helen Greene and Grandfather Nathaniel Greene.
