Funeral services for Lyle R. Lake, 74, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9th at Worden Chapel with Lynn Schleicher of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Coeur d' Alene Memorial Gardens, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. The family asks that any memorial contributions be given to the Weston County Humane Society.
Mr. Lake died Thursday, October 3rd at his Newcastle home. Lyle was born April 12, 1939 at St. Maries, Idaho the son of Nancy and James Lake. He attended the University of Wyoming where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He had also enlisted in the United States Air Force. He had been employed as a chemical engineer for Texaco (Chevron) at Casper, Wyoming and later for Murphy Oil of Superior, Wisconsin and later for Wyoming Refining of Newcastle, Wyoming. He was well known and respected in the community as a kind, generous, loving father, grandfather, son and brother.
He was the President of the University of Wyoming Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; the National Rifle Association, Weston County Sportsman's Club and a member of First Christian Church.
He is survived by his children Kevin (Karen) Lake of Spokane, Washington, Kelly (Tim) Penberthy of Post Falls, Idaho, Kip (Jackie) Gillin of Great Falls, Montana and Jason (Alisha) Lake of Newcastle, Wyoming. Also surviving are brothers James Lake of Spokane, Washington, Marvin and Bob Lake both of Kellogg, Idaho, Harvey Lake of Dillon, Montana; sister Elaine Stout of Spokane, Washington; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
