Lloyd N. (LN) Waggener, age 70, died Friday, December 10, 2010 in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Lifecare Center of Cheyenne.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 15th at Worden Chapel in Newcastle. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, Wyoming under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. The family prefers memorial contributions for the benefit of Newcastle Senior Services.
LN was born May 31, 1940 in Newcastle, Wyoming the son of LN and Theda Bell (Adkins) Waggener. He was raised in Newcastle where he graduated from Newcastle High School in 1959. On July 3, 1959, he married Yvonne Marie Burke, they later divorced. The couple had four children.
In his younger years he loved spending time at Keyhole Reservoir camping and boating with his family, playing city league basketball, hunting and playing cards. As the years went on, he enjoyed his occasional trips to Deadwood, SD with friends.
Mr. Waggener was employed by Rocky Mountain Pump and Supply in Newcastle, Wyoming until he was transferred to Gillette, Wyoming where he had been employed by Schlumberger Well Service in 1969. He left the oil field in the mid 1970's to work in sales for D & I Motors, now Davis Chevrolet. He had also been employed by the Campbell County Fair Board as the manager of the Campbell County Fairgrounds from 1975 through 1983. He returned to the oil field in sales working for Getter Trucking, Osborn Brothers and D & S Casing in the 1980's. As he got older when asked what his favorite job was, he always replied selling cars for D & I Motors.
He suffered a brain aneurysm in 1992 and was disabled from the injury and was not able to return to work. He lived in Gillette until 2006 when heart problems and eventually open heart surgery took him to Sheridan to be closer to his son JD Waggener. In 2009 he suffered a stroke and moved to Cheyenne where his daughter lives.
Surviving him are his four children, LN Waggener, III of Gillette, WY Deb Renneisen of Cheyenne, WY, JD Waggener of Sheridan, WY and RC Waggener of Gillette, WY. Also surviving is one sister Claudene Davis of Casper, WY, one brother Mike Waggener of Newcastle, one aunt Mona Rae Fedrizzi of Powell, WY; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
LN was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Waggener and Theda Burden, and one sister Claudette Seeley.
