John ( Jack) Richard Duca 87, of Upton passed away at home on March 5th, 2012
Jack was born on April 3rd 1924 to Arthur and Gareta Duca in Niagra, Wisconsin.
They later moved to Wyoming and lived in Sundance, Gillette and Upton where he graduated with the class of 1942.
He worked for Saunders Lumber Yard during his high school years. He met Mary
Thompson July 12, 1941at a dance and fell in love. They married on March 2nd, 1943. On Feb. 1943 he was drafted into the Army. In 1946 he was discharged he then worked 30 yrs. for Fuller Hardware. He also had worked at Greens Electric and Federal Bentonite until he retired in 1986.
He loved taking his family on camping trips to the mountains, Tetons, Yellowstone and also Sand Creek. He liked to fish, he also had a garden, and he enjoyed working out in his shed. He enjoyed watching football and he was a fan of the Denver Broncos. He really enjoyed going to the new Senior Center for lunch and visiting with friends. Jack and Mary just celebrated their 69th Anniversary. He will truly be missed by his family and friends
Jack is survived by his wife Mary, Four children Linda Faxon of Gillette, John (Dee) of Windsor,CO, Mark (Cindy) of Upton and Wendy (Dave) Strong of Upton. Two sisters Betty Durfee of Sundance,Wy and Kathy (Terry) Currey of Douglas,WY. Also 11 Grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Arnold and Wayne, one son
Steve, and one grandson Johnny Faxon.
