Mr. Garry Johnson

Funeral services for Newcastle native Garry Johnson, 70, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 13th at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle under direction of Worden Funeral Directors. The family prefers memorial contributions to Weston County Physical Therapy. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, February 12th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Worden Chapel.
Mr. Johnson died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 8th at Weston County Health Services following a brief illness.
Garry was born August 1, 1941 at Newcastle, Wyoming the son of Gordon and Jean (nee Copeland) Johnson. He was raised in Newcastle and was a graduate of Newcastle High School Class of 1959. He later attended art classes for a short while and loved to sketch and paint pictures. On October 22, 1966, he married Barbara A. McDaniel at Newcastle, Wyoming. The couple had been married for 45 years. They lived in Weston County all of their lives where Garry was employed in the oilfields as a pumper for True Oil Company. He enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing. But most of all he loved his children and grandchildren and attending their events. Mr. Johnson liked to be with his family, talking on the phone to his friends and especially his brothers and sisters.
Surviving him is his wife of Newcastle; son Joey Johnson and his wife Melissa and grandsons Hardy, Hadley and Hayden; daughter Marni Hossfeld of Newcastle and grandsons Flint and Caleb Hossfeld; brothers Mike Johnson and wife Peggy of Rock Springs, WY; Dean Johnson and wife Tammy of Newcastle; sisters Lilla Wiesler of NC; Beverly Johnson of Sheridan, WY; Lisa DeCarie and husband Jacques of Florida. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and three nephews, Brian Bland, Justin and Joshua Johnson.
