Mr. Donald Montgomery

Funeral services for Donald Harrison Montgomery, 63, will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, September 15th at Upton First Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the Upton Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Upton Ambulance Fund. Mr. Montgomery died Saturday, September 10th at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle.

Donald was born February 28, 1948 at Cheyenne, Wyoming the son of Arthur and Marguerite (nee Blanton) Montgomery. He attended Cheyenne public schools and graduated from Cheyenne East High School. He then attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming where he married Connie E. Hockett on November 21, 1969. He was employed by Safeway in both Seattle, Washington and Denver, Colorado from 1970 to 1979. He moved his family to Upton, Wyoming in 1979 when he was employed by Thunder Basin Coal Company from 1979 to present day. Don loved his family and friends, especially spending time with them. He also was a sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and was an enthusiastic sports fan. He was especially a true Wyoming Cowboy fan through and through.

Survivors include his wife Connie of Upton, WY; son Don (Amy) Montgomery of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter Tracy (John) Lien of Sheridan, WY; grandchildren Tyler and Martin Lien; Avery, Dante, Walker, Tehya, Cannon, Cutler and Reagan Montgomery; mother Marguerite Montgomery of Seattle, WA; sisters Mary Pollard of Aurora, CO and Ruth Montgomery of Bremerton, WA; an Aunt and one Uncle as well as numerous brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death was his father.
