Miss Roll

Funeral services for Sharlene Irene Roll, 58, of Casper, WY will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Worden Funeral Directors in Newcastle, WY with Pastor Bill Haley officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, WY. Visitation will be from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 28th at Worden Chapel.
Sharlene died at her home in Casper, WY on April 22, 2010. Sharlene was born December 7, 1951 to Jacob and Edna (Staiger) Roll in Lemmon, SD. She has three sisters, Marian Rogers, Darlene Berger and Eileen Toth and one brother Jacob Roll, Jr.
Sharlene was raised in Newcastle, WY and attended school during her early childhood years at Gertrude Burns Elementary School, at which time, because of being a special needs child, she went to the State Training School in Lander, Wyoming. In later years she was moved to a special needs home in Sheridan, WY and then to an assisted living home in Casper, WY. She enjoyed calling this her home.
Sharlene was one of God's special children. She had learning disabilities and special needs, so her life was filled with many struggles; however, her heart was big and she was loved and watched out for by all who know her. She is now at her final home, where she has joined her mother who loved and cared for her so deeply. Sharlene's struggles are now gone and her life and home are now the best they could be as she is in her mom's and God's care. She will be missed by her family and never forgotten by those who loved her so dearly.
Sharlene enjoyed knitting, ceramics, going to the movies, shopping and spending time with children. She also enjoyed selling the crafts she made to the locals each October. She loved it when her family came to visit and enjoyed going to restaurants to eat and spend time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Edna Roll. She is survived by her father Jacob Roll of Newcastle, WY; three sisters, Marian (Dave) Rogers of Pine, CO, Darlene (Larry) Berger and Eileen (Frank) Toth both of Newcastle, WY; and one brother Jacob Roll, Jr. of Newcastle; two nieces, three nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews.
