Michael Fitzwater

Michael L. Fitzwater, 77 years old, passed on January 27, 2024, from a short fight of pancreatic cancer, in Newcastle, Wyoming.

            Mike was the son of Ralph and Jerry Fitzwater. Born in Toledo, Ohio on November 19, 1946. Mike grew up with four sisters and six brothers. When he was 18 years of age he joined the U.S. Army, where he fought in Vietnam War, later receiving a Purple Heart award for his service.

            Returning home, he met Linda Anderson and got married in June of 1972. Starting their family, they had two boys Rob and Billy. In 1984, Mike went off to attend the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School. Because of his deep passion for horses, he did a lot of work with many.

            His hobbies were riding horses and motorcycles. He loved to walk and meet new people; he never met a stranger. Getting coffee at a local restaurant soon also became routine when he moved to Newcastle, Wyoming. He also loved to be surrounded by family, watch his granddaughters grow up, and watch many movies with his dog Cody.

            Mike is survived by wife Linda, sons Rob (Jamie) Billy (Michelle), grandchildren Preslee and Addison, three brothers and four sisters. He’s proceeded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
