Mary Nikkila

Mary Ann Nikkila, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak for the past 56 years, died February 4, 2012 at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak. She was born July 2, 1928 in Hamtramck to the late Matthew and Catherine Terpack. Mrs. Nikkila worked for Kmart as a sales clerk for 20 years. She also worked for CN&N Catering and Rental. She enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting and was a wonderful cook. More than anything, she loved her family. She is survived by her children, Douglas Patricia Nikkila, Susan Wunderlich and Thomas Pamela Nikkila; and grandchildren, Richard Wunderlich, Bryan Nikkila, Gregory Nikkila and Allyssa Nikkila. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving S. Nikkila, on December 20, 2005; and siblings, Jean Hutchinson and Robert Terpack. There will be a memorial visitation Thursday 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks.
