Mary Murphy

Mary Ellen Murphy nee Fogle, age 66, a resident of Royal Oak, died March 5, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born September 24, 1943 in Royal Oak. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. She is survived by her husband, Shane F. Murphy; the couple married August 20, 1966 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak; children, Joseph Wendy Murphy of Brighton, Maureen Bontrager of Royal Oak, Matthew Stefanie Murphy of Royal Oak and Kathleen "KT" Scott Newsom of Sylvania, OH; siblings, Clinton Fogle of Royal Oak and Anne Fogle of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Katherine and Eleanor Murphy; Grace, Brendan, Joseph and Shane Bontrager; Anna, Peter and Margaret Murphy; Elizabeth, Andrew, Matthew and John Newsom; and mother-in-law, Dolores Murphy of Clawson. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gregory Bontrager; and brother, Howard J. Fogle. The visitation will be Sunday 2-9 p.m. and Monday 3-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Murphy will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
