Mary Hastings

Mary June Hastings, age 85, a 2-year resident of Southfield, died January 8, 2010 at her home. She was born March 20, 1924 in Detroit. Ms. Hastings worked in security at the Meijer in Royal Oak from 1995-2005. She was a great artist and enjoyed interior decorating. She loved babies and was a great party person! She is survived by her children, Mary Frances Mergos of Southfield, John Matthew Hastings, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Thomas Patrick Nancy Hastings of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Patricia Ann Thomas Morgan Larson of Englewood, FL and Michael James Hastings of Tucson, AZ; sister, Carol Duggan of West Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Hendricks. The visitation will be Tuesday 2 p.m. until the time of service 6 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak, with Chaplain Jack Van Acker officiating. The inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
