Mary Erwin

Mary Ellen Everard Erwin, age 87, a resident of Royal Oak for more than 60 years, and longtime St. Dennis parishioner, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born February 26, 1921 in Kansas City, KS. Mrs. Erwin was known for her devotion to her husband, Alfred, and her seven children, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Erwin traveled the United States camping with her family for many years. She continued to enjoy camping during the annual family camping event each Memorial Day weekend at Holiday Beach, Canada. All will miss her laughter, stories and love of all things Irish. Mrs. Erwin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Alfred, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage; children, James Eileen Erwin of Woodbridge, VA, Donald Lillian Erwin of Huntington Woods, Kathleen Edward Peterson of Royal Oak, Robert Erwin of Royal Oak, Thomas Martha Erwin of Royal Oak and Judith Steve Fisher of Madison Heights; grandchildren, Nathan Catalina Erwin, Mark Erwin, Bryce Erwin, Mitchell Erwin, Matthew Jenny Erwin, Valerie Erwin, Sarah Peterson, Mary Peterson, Lisa Peterson, Elizabeth Fisher and Andrew Fisher; one great-grandchild, Savanna; brother, John Everard; and sister, Elizabeth MacKillop. She was predeceased by her son Michael, brother Richard and sister Martha.
