Mary passed away peacefully at her home in Hazel Park, Michigan on Saturday, June 8, 2013. She was born May 21, 1939 in Pocahontas, Alabama. She is survived by her loving husband Jimmie, whom she married July 31, 1956 in Mississippi. Mary is the loving mother of Jimmy Becky Alvis, Sherri Jerry Alvis-Wolfe, Joni Dominic Squillace, Toni Alvis and the late Terri Alvis. Dear sister of Brenda Gearhart, William Dickson and Joan Cheasley Gray. Loving grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 8. She is also survived by her dog, Bubba. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Cleo Dickson. Visitation Tuesday 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with service Tuesday 7:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks.
