Martha Quinn

Martha Frances Hamilton Quinn, age 83, a resident of Royal Oak since 1935, died October 1, 2011. Born September 28, 1928 in Louisville, KY to the late William and Louise Hamilton. Beloved wife of Austin Gerald. Loving mother of Thomas Tina Quinn, Maureen George Vance, Colleen Jim Theuerkauf, Brian Vanessa Quinn, Eileen Robert Pennington and Kathleen Quinn. Proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Martha graduated from Wayne State University with a Master's Degree in Education and taught at Troy High School for 17 years before retiring in 1988. She also led a volunteer group providing income tax guidance to low income families for 20 years. She was a member of the Great Lakes Sweet Adeline Singing Chorus and an avid golfer. The visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Martha will lie in state Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Memorials to Gilda's Club of Royal Oak or American Cancer Society appreciated.
