Martha Kiefer

Martha J. Kiefer, 86, of Royal Oak, died Monday, March 17, 2008, in Farmington Hills. She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her husband, Edgar Kiefer, whom she wed on Aug. 5, 1944, in Abilene, TX. Mrs. Kiefer was a Royal Oak resident for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Marygrove College and enjoyed playing bridge. She volunteered at the Royal Oak Public Library, American Red Cross and Hospice. She also loved to spend summers at their home on Lake Huron. Mrs. Kiefer is also survived by her children, Richard Patricia Butler Kiefer of Boulder, CO, Michael Suzanne Kiefer of South Haven, MI, Mary Ann Paul Corrigan of Huntington Woods, MI, Marcia Jerry Dougan of Fremont, MI and Paul Fumiko Kiefer of Auburn, WA; sister, Virginia Sanderson; and six grandchildren.
