Private family services for Marlene M. Gregory, 70, were held Tuesday, July 21st at Black Hills National Cemetery with Pastor Bill Haley officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent in Marlene's memory of PO Box 942, Newcastle, WY 82701.
Mrs. Gregory died Sunday, July 19th at Weston County Health Services.
Marlene was born June 21, 1939 at Dewey, South Dakota the daughter of Ralph and Jessie Fillinger. She attended the Morrisey School through the eighth grade when she entered Newcastle High School, graduating with the Class of 1957. On December 27, 1957 she married Donald E. Gregory at Rapid City, South Dakota. The couple lived in Long Beach, California while Don served in the U. S. Navy Following his discharge in 1959, the couple returned to Newcastle where they have since made their home. Marlene was employed by Weston County Health Services for thirty two years working in the laundry department as laundry supervisor until her retirement.
Mrs. Gregory loved working outside in her yard and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, four wheeling and preparing for the holidays. Marlene was also an enthusiastic sports fan, attending all Newcastle Dogies home events.
Marlene is survived by her husband Don of Newcastle; three sons; Greg and Francie Fordyce, David and Micheal and Sheila Daigh all of Newcastle; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are one sister Lois Kenny Hunter of Gillette, and one brother Donald Sandy Fillinger of Newcastle and several nieces and nephews.
