Marjory Turney

Marjory H. Porter-Turney, 87, of Royal Oak, formerly of Sterling Heights, died April 3, 2008, at Cambridge North Nursing Center in Clawson. She was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Detroit. Mrs. Turney was a Royal Oak resident for more than 10 years. She retired from Crowley MilnerÆs Department Store downtown. Mrs. Turney was one of the original crossing guards for the City of Detroit at E. Grand Boulevard. She enjoyed baking, playing Bingo, sewing and loved dogs. Mrs. Turney is survived by her children, Susan Wisniewski of Madison Heights and James Yvonne Porter of Davisburg; grandchildren, Kimberly, Suzanne, Lori, Richard Jr., Cindy, Steven, Krystal, Robert and Jody; and 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton J. Porter on December 12, 1949.
