Marie Solnikowski

Marie Alicia Arce/Cline Solnikowski. Age 75. April 9, 2009.
Beloved mother of Therese Richard Williams, George L. Cline, Mike Solnikowski, Stephen Solnikowski, Cindy Keene and Lynn Marine. Sister of William Bev Arce, Michael Lois Arce and Julie Sam Desiderio. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Solnikowski was a graduate of Shrine of the Little Flower High School. She previously attended Guardian Angels Church in Clawson and National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Formerly she was employed at Ford Tractor in Birmingham. Alicia had her own catering business for 21 years and had been a supervisor for both the grade school and high school cafeterias for Shrine of the Little Flower. She was a member of Shrine Mom's Club, St. Francis of Assisi Alter Society at Guardian Angels and was in the Buxum Belles as well as the American Legion Auxiliary in Troy. She received the Detroit Woman of the Year Award and the Michigan Cancer Foundation Service Award. Mrs. Solnikowski enjoyed cooking for others, crocheting afghans, making quilts, Christmas beaded ornaments and her greatest pleasure was doing things for others.
Visitation Monday, April 20th from 1-9 pm with a 7 pm scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd., Royal Oak. Funeral Tuesday, April 21st with the family receiving friends at 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower 12 Mile Road and Woodward Ave., Royal Oak. Memorial contributions to the church or Shrine High School are appreciated.
