Marguerite Crutcher

May 20, 1928 — December 8, 2012

The wonderful life of Marguerite Elizabeth Crutcher began on May 20, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to the union of the late Elizabeth and Ernest Davis. In 1948 she moved to Detroit, Michigan. She later graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Fine Arts and as a Registered Nurse with a diploma in Nursing from Providence Hospital. On July 5, 1952 at the age of 24, Marguerite united in holy matrimony to her soul mate Porter Crutcher Jr. who was with her for 60 amazing years and helped her raise their three sons. In her spare time, she loved many things like spending time with family and friends, doing massage therapy, art work, cooking, watching sports, listening to classical music, playing Sudoku and telling her husband to turn off that bebop music. On Saturday, December 8, 2012, Marguerite surrendered her long fight and was called home to paradise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Ernest Davis; and three special cousins, Ed Thompson, Julius Thompson and Robert Thompson. Marguerite leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Porter Crutcher, Jr.; three sons, Rahmel, Graylen and Jann; a beautiful granddaughter, Adriana; three special cousins, Lee Ethel Thompson, Joan Thompson and Mae Hidler; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Memorials to the donor's choice of charity appreciated.
