Margo Jane Brabant, age 66, a resident of Royal Oak, died August 11, 2013. She was born October 24, 1946 in Detroit to the late William and Margot Collins Brabant. Margo was a graduate of Shrine High School and the Center of Creative Studies. She began her career in the framing business in New York City. Upon her return home, she opened her own frame shop "The Framemaker" in Birmingham, MI which thrived for 30 years and built up quite a large and loyal clientele. She then moved her business to her Royal Oak home and continued until her health worsened. Margo also worked at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where she made many good friends. Margo was a devout Catholic and was very devoted to "Right to Life" which led her to spend many years providing support and care to single expectant mothers, which also led her to adopt her son Blaine. That is why we have picked "Mary's Mantle" who supports single expectant mothers for memorial donations. Margo was preceded in death by her son, Blaine A. Brabant; and brother, Richard Brabant. She is survived by her siblings, Nanette Jack Day, William Barbara Brabant, Suzanne Henry Herpel, Thomas Brabant, James Monica Brabant, Mary Jo Arthur Cairo, Jennifer Brabant, Christine Mark Preston and Philip Brabant. The visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Margo will lie in state Wednesday 11:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 12 noon at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
