Margaret Wehrung

Margaret Josephine Wehrung, age 94, a resident of Royal Oak since 1945, died January 25, 2009 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born December 7, 1914 in Detroit. Mrs. Wehrung graduated from Marygrove College and then received her master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She was formerly employed at the League of Catholic Women. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was an avid cook and reader. She is survived by her children, Brendan Ralph Wehrung, Marianne Noel Becker and Bryan H. Patricia Wehrung; sister, Mary Geraldine "Gerry" Shantz; and grandchildren, Melanie Becker, Kathryn Wehrung, Julian Becker and Jennifer Wehrung. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Henry Wehrung, in August of 1973. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. In state Thursday 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Royal Oak.
