Margaret Meschke

Margaret Jane Meschke, age 86, a resident of Royal Oak for more than 60 years, died peacefully January 18, 2010 at Avow Hospice House in Naples, FL. She was born February 6, 1923 in Charlotte, MI. Mrs. Meschke was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was also an active member at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, where she worked in their library. She loved taking care of her family, and her grandchildren were the joy of her later years. Mrs. Meschke is survived by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Robert Meschke. The couple were married June 18, 1949 in Charlotte; her children, Margaret Moore of Northville and David Sue Meschke of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Chad and Michael Moore; and many dear friends. She will be greatly missed. The visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Meschke will lie in state Wednesday 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Rice officiating.
