Margaret Merritt

Margaret Dorothy Stone Merritt, 80, of Farmington Hills, formerly of Southfield, died March 31, 2008, at her home. She was born June 21, 1927, in Detroit. Mrs. Merritt was a professional graphics artist. She was a graduate of Michigan State University. Mrs. Merritt was the president of Pam Jour Sorority and PDC Sorority at Royal Oak High School. Mrs. Merritt is survived by her children, John Regina Merritt of Roseville, William Jane Merritt of Ferndale, Margaret Kevin Smith of Rockford and Charlotte Robert Niester of Onaway; siblings, Charlotte Davenport of Ann Arbor and William Sandra Bartholmey Stone of Crystal Lake, IL; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Garland Merritt, whom she married Dec. 31, 1950, and her parents, Richard Harris and Dorothy Katherine Cornell Stone.
