Malcolm J. Armstrong, 77, of Sterling Heights, died Feb. 18, 2008, at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Hills. He was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Detroit. Mr. Armstrong earned bachelors' degrees from the University of New Hampshire and Ohio State University and a masters' degree in education from Wayne State University. He retired from Kimball High School, Royal Oak, where he worked as a principal for 35 years. Mr. Armstrong was a lifetime member of the Royal Oak Lions Club, belonged to the Golden Choraliers, was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel and belonged to the Somerset Walkabout Club. He enjoyed attending his grandchildrenÆs sporting events, going for walks, reading and singing. He loved spending time with family and friends. Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife, Jean A. Severe Armstrong whom he married Dec. 22, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio; children, Buff Armstrong of Kalamazoo, Dianne the late Kevan Weiland of Berkley, and Malcolm Kathy Armstrong of New Haven; siblings, Muriel Don Smith of Boca Raton, FL, Janice Ken Saundry of Naples, FL, Keith Monette Armstrong of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Young, Madeleine Weiland, Olivia Weiland and Katelyn Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, James E. Jay Armstrong; and his parents, James Edward and Madeleine Crossett Armstrong.
