Mae Schmitt

Mae Ellen Schmitt, age 94, a 20-year resident of Royal Oak, MI, formerly a 74-year resident of Anderson, IN, died October 7, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born October 1, 1916 in Portland, IN. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Miller; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban A. Schmitt, on June 22, 2000. The couple married May 5, 1935 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anderson. Mrs. Schmitt will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
