Graveside services for Lucille A. Humes, 83, of Moorcroft will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 8th at Newcastle WY Greenwood Cemetery with Randy Blakeman officiating. Casket bearers will be Jeromy, Joe, Carl, Kip and Ian Humes and Michael Bjorklund. All other grandchildren and great grandchildren are honorary bearers. Burial will follow under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Moorcroft Seniors Center or Sharon's Home Health Agency.
Mrs. Humes died Thursday, June 4th at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, WY where she had been a resident for the past several months.
Lucille Anna Dexter was born January 7, 1926 in Ohio the daughter of Harry and Margaret Peterson Dexter. She graduated from Newcastle High School. On October 20, 1945 she was married to Ralph Edison Humes at Compton, California. Mrs. Humes operated her rural mail contract until July, 2008. She will always be remembered for her strong personality.
Lucille was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving her are two sons, Jerry Margo Humes and Jim Linda Humes all of Moorcroft, five grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and many other family members.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, son John and twin sisters Mary and Marian.
