Lt. Carroll

Lt. Col. Betty C. Carroll, 85, of Sterling Heights, formerly of Royal Oak, died March 6, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Southfield. She was born May 27, 1922 in St. Paul, MN. In January 1945, Betty married Raymond Carroll and the Salvation Army assigned them to Saginaw, MI. Several Corps assignments in Michigan were followed by administrative positions in Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin, followed by appointments as Divisional Commander in Iowa, Kansas and Michigan. They were assigned to Territorial Headquarters until retirement in 1982. Betty was predeceased by her husband on March 15, 2007. Surviving are her children, Barbara Kenneth Curl of Wilksboro, NC, Cynthia Ian NcNeil of Troy, MI, Richard Barbara Carroll of Hutchison, KS and Susan Gregory Payton of Clarkston, MI; sister, Barbara Forst of LaGrange, IL; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
