A celebration of life for Lorna D. Hansen, 77, will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 3rd at the Weston County Seniors Center with Pastors Charles Dutcher and Bill Haley officiating. Burial will follow at the Boyd Cemetery near Four Corners, Wyoming under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3rd from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Worden Chapel. Coffee and cake will be served following the burial at The Country Church.

Mrs. Hansen went home to the Lord on September 30th 2007 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She fought a very brave and valiant battle against ovarian cancer.
Lorna was born the daughter of Ross and Lorella Kovac Smith Allen, Sr. at her grandparents home on June 18, 1930 at Newcastle, Wyoming. She grew up on the Canyon Spring?s Ranch near Four Corners, Wyoming. Lorna?s early school years were spent attending country schools at North Timber, Highland Park, and Boyd. Later years she went to school at Newcastle. Lorna was very involved in school activities, music choirs, and organizations. She was elected homecoming queen, senior class president, cheerleader and graduated with honors at Newcastle High School in 1948. On June 8, 1952 she married Carl William Hansen at First United Methodist Church in Newcastle, Wyoming. To this union were born a son, Chris Hansen, and a daughter Darlene Sears. Lorna worked at J. C. Penney, Employment Security office, Newcastle School District, Petrolane, Schlumberger, U. S. Geological Service and retired from the Bureau of Land Management.
Lorna felt greatly blessed by the love of her family, friends, and love from the Lord, church, crafts, music, computer classes and many fishing trips. Her eulogy is ?she isn?t gone, she?s just gone fishing.?
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Carl Hansen; one son Chris Hansen of Spearfish, SD and close friend D?Anna Hitson of Spearfish; one daughter Darlene Sears and son in law Travis Sears of Spearfish; one sister Ariel Cole and one brother Ervin Allen both of Newcastle, WY; In addition she has 6 brothers in law and five sister in laws, Rose Allen Roy & Shirley Borgialli, Jack Hansen, Fred & Barbara Hansen, Corbin & Helen Nicolls, Russell & Lorraine Davis, Jimmy Hansen and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, mother in law and father in law Carl & Ella Hansen, brother and sister in law Ross and Bertha Allen, Jr.; sister and brother in law Anna Marie and David Rawhouser, and sister in law Zelpha Hansen, and brother in law Roosevelt Cole.
