Memorial services for Lester G. ?Buzz? Brown, 84, will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 10th at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Parker officiating. Burial with military honors will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle. The family asks that memorial contributions be given towards the Weston County Health Services Foundation.
Buzz died Sunday, May 24th at Weston Manor in Newcastle, Wyoming.
He was born December 3, 1924 at Wayne, Nebraska the son of Harold L. and Nina Bangetter Brown. During World War II he served with the U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific at Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, and the occupation of Japan.
During his lifetime he was married to Frances Warner, the mother of his children, Gertrude Simmons and Dorothy Walker. Buzz was a bowler, golfer and avid fisherman. In his later years he was a killer cribbage player.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Carl Kummerle Post #2516 of Newcastle and the I.O.O.F. Lodge #20 of Newcastle.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Newcastle, sons Ron Connie Brown, Corky Pam Brown, daughter Bobbie Jerry Bloom, step son Nub Kathe Baker; Sister Darlene Mort May and sister in law Ruth Eugene Brown. Also surviving are five grandchildren six great grandchildren and many other relatives.
