Leonard Jankowski

Leonard Jankowski, age 90, of Royal Oak, died February 3, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Warren Campus. He was born April 17, 1918 in Detroit. Mr. Jankowski was a residential painter. He enjoyed fishing and working in his vegetable garden. He was also a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Jankowski is survived by his children, Larry Jan Favret Jankowski of Eau Claire, WI, Dennis Linda Susan Jankowski of Manistee and Janet Ciaramitaro of Warren; siblings, Eleanor Paczas of Bloomfield, Violet Rachoza of Redford and Norbert Helen Jankowski of Troy; and grandchildren, Carmen, Marissa, Kara, Dennis II and Roger Jankowski and Alex Ciaramitaro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene E. Jankowski, on January 2, 1998. The couple were married on January 12, 1946 in Detroit; son-in-law, William Ciaramitaro; parents, Anthony and Anna Jankowski; brother, Robert Jankowski; brothers-in-law, Ted Paczas and Leonard Rachoza; and sister-in-law, Mildred Jankowski. The visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. and service Friday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
