Leann Dutcher

February 24, 1944 — February 28, 2025

Leann Pauline Dutcher (Toppenberg), age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, February 28th, 2025 in Legacy, Gillette from natural causes. Leann was born February 24th, 1944 in Igloo, South Dakota to Andrew Toppenberg and Leona Mendenhall. On January 17, 1961 she married Charles Dutcher, former pastor of The Country Church. They had three children Tina Sundstrom, Terri Smith and Bryan Dutcher. Leann’s talents were many, she loved to bake, sew, and create many crafts, play card games, window shop and watch a good soap opera. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Leann was the most compassionate, sensitive and supportive listener. Many things in life were solved over a good cup of coffee at a kitchen table! Her absence is deeply felt and we will all miss her more than words can say. She is survived by her brother Durrell Toppenberg and wife Deb; daughters Tina Sundstrom, Terri Smith and son Bryan Dutcher and his wife Sherri; grandchildren Christopher Dutcher and his wife Maja, Natosha Parks and her husband Chris, Angelina Dutcher, Allisha Hamlin and her husband Justin, Daniel Dutcher, Caleb Dutcher and Ethan Dutcher; great-grandchildren Mason and Kaullen Sundstrom, Skyler Summers, Elizabeth Dutcher, Charlotte Dutcher, Joshua Parks, Jayden Parks, Natallina Dutcher and Joseph (JJ) Smith; sister-in-law Shirley Toppenberg; brother/sister-in-law Bill and Shirley Haley, many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Proceeded in death by husband Charles Dutcher, parents Andrew Toppenberg, Stace and Leona Mendenhall, brother Deleu Toppenberg and sister Madonna Hecker. Funeral services will be held at the Senior Center of Newcastle, WY at 2:00 p.m. on March 29th, 2025 with cake and coffee to follow. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation and thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Legacy, The Country Church and the Senior Center.
