Laurie C. Levy nee Scarpace, age 68, a resident of Royal Oak, died December 29, 2009 at Providence Park Hospital in Novi. Mrs. Levy was a 1959 graduate of Dearborn High School and received two master's degrees from Michigan State University. She was an elementary and middle school teacher for more than 30 years; president of the Bloomfield Hills Education Association; member of the Southfield/SOMEA-retired, and of MEA and Life Member of MEA-retired; she was the Regent of Ezra Parker Chapter Royal Oak of the Daughters of the American Revolution 2003-2006; Michigan DAR State Parliamentarian 2003-2006; selected as Outstanding Chapter Regent in the State of Michigan 2005; president of the Royal Oak Woman's Club 2004-2006; member of Luisa Saks Parliamentary Unit; and Michigan DAR State Registrar 2006-2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward; dear sister of Dr. Frederick Mary Scarpace and Anthony Judith Scarpace; niece of Sal Scarpace and Helena Scarpace; also survived by seven nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held Wednesday 6-9 p.m. and Thursday 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
