Kimberly Ann Adamczyk, 37, died peacefully on May 12, 2012, in her home in Southfield, Michigan, surrounded by a host of family members and friends who loved her dearly and whom she loved dearly, too. Formerly a resident of Clawson, MI, Kimberly graduated from Clawson High School in 1992 as an accomplished athlete and industrious student. She was a year-round participant in track and cross-country, and was awarded many medals that attest to her success. As a member of the swim team, she excelled throughout middle school and high school with numerous special friends. Kim was also very active in Explorer Post 1093, a high-adventure service group. Determined to achieve in her life, Kim graduated from Western Michigan University in the Class of 2002, with a degree in social psychology. In her professional work at Growth Works, she helped many children find a better path in life, and she loved them all. She will be truly remembered affectionately and missed exceedingly by her many co-workers. Kimmie loved to dance Detroit Ballroom, Chicago Step, and Salsa with her college "sister" friends. "Her closet is filled with six-inch heels and boots that she often wore to dance the night away!" said her mother Bette. "We'd often bet she could run a 100-yard dash in those heels--and win!" She loved the music of Prince and was a vibrant, talkative soul. The personal scrapbooks she put together reflect many of the jubilant parts of her life. In all her activities, Kim's infectious smile captured and touched many hearts everywhere. She probably has more "best friends" than anyone. Kim became a member of the Ball family as a teenager, when she entered Clawson High. At first, she was a little shy, but before long she blossomed into a confident, poised young woman. "Indeed she touched our hearts and our lives," said Bette, "as she became a part of our familya"and she was dearly loved by all. She brightened our lives and led us all to be better people. Eventually, she declared she was the 'baby of the family' and also the favorite." Kim's dear companion, Steve Chennault, has many fond memories of the life he shared with her. "Our eyes met from across the room during a birthday party and we've been connected ever since." They loved traveling together, spending time in California, going to Steve's family reunions in Georgia and the Carolinas, and visiting Kim's college friends in Chicago. Their beautiful home in Southfield, filled with serenity and tranquility, is privately tucked away "by nature's magic in the heart of the city," Kim would saya"and she adored it! Tender memories of Kim will forever be remembered by the glowing, brilliant smile she always adorneda"indeed a wonderful prime memory!
