Kenneth McKenzie

April 7, 1910 — October 14, 2006

Graveside Services for Upton resident Kenneth F. McKenzie, 96, will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 19th at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle with Rev. Al Sims of Newcastle Southern Baptist Church officiating. The family prefers memorial contributions to the Weston Manor activities Fund in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be private.

Mr. McKenzie died Saturday, October 14th at his home North of Upton following a lengthy illness.

Ken was born April 7, 1910 at Miles City, Montana the son of Harry D. and Louise Bonner McKenzie. As a young man he lived with his family on a ranch near Powderville, MT attending his grade school years there at a country school. He attended high school in Miles City, Montana and business school at Miles City also. He was married to Ramona J. Huskinson in Sheridan, WY on December 23, 1949. To this union three sons were born; Kenneth E. McKenzie, Gary J. McKenzie and Donald R. and the Hanna?Elk Mountain School Board. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hanna, and was the organist for the church. He also played organ for various weddings and funerals over the years, and later years played with Al Sim?s group in Newcastle at the Weston County Manor. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1977 and moved to Weston County, moving to Upton in 1990.

Survivors include his wife of Upton; a daughter; Kay Beltz of Bell, MT; sons Barry McKenzie of Reno, NV and Gary McKenzie of Green River, WY; and Don McKenzie of Cheyenne, WY. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; and son Ken E. McKenzie;
and grandson Mike Beltz.
