Kenneth Kiser

September 23, 1917 — June 5, 2012

Kenneth C. Kiser, age 94, died June 5, 2012. Mr. Kiser was a resident of Royal Oak and formerly of Harlingen, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona. He was the father of Jerome "Joe" Shelly of Berkley; proud grandfather of Mark and Joseph Rachel; great grandfather of a soon-to-be born great-grandson; and brother of Juanita Butler. Kenneth married Leona on April 15, 1939 in Napoleon, Ohio. They moved to Royal Oak and lived there until 1982, at which point they moved to Texas and lived happily together until Leona passed away in 2007. Kenneth was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who proudly served in the Company B 18th Infantry Regiment 1st Division. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and Belgian Fourragere. He went on to work for SMART for 38 years driving a bus and enjoyed playing cards and cribbage whenever he got a chance. Kenneth will be buried with full military honors on Tuesday, June 12th at 2 p.m. at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Arrangements by Wm.
