Kenneth H. Bertschy, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008. He was born in Akron, OH, on August 21, 1915. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy "Dots" McGinley. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, the Senior Men's Club and the Birmingham Area Senior Citizen's Club. As a member of "The Greatest Generation," he proudly served in the Army during World War II. Following his military service, he worked as a CPA for Spear and Company, Pittsburgh, PA, before coming to Detroit where he served as a trusted financial officer for Hughes and Hatcher. He is survived by daughters Kitty Blose, Canton, GA, and Betsy Hasse, Grand Rapids, MI, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to whom he was lovingly known as GGPa, and friend and companion Esther Hamma. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 6255 Telegraph Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301 at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church honoring Ken.
